Do you want to develop expertise in the field of climate change? Do you want to contribute to the efforts to combat the impacts of climate change?

The Institut Pierre-Simon Laplace Climate Graduate School (IPSL-CGS) brings together many of the most esteemed scientists in the Paris area working in the field of climate change. It provides an exceptional opportunity to prepare for a master or a doctorate degree and to work with cutting-edge research laboratories and internationally recognised institutions highly placed in the Shanghai ranking of world universities*.

The IPSL-CGS is proud to invite 30 outstanding international undergraduate and master students to the first IPSL Spring School on “Climate Change: Challenges and Issues for the Earth Sciences”,which will take place in central Paris at the Sorbonne University, from April 6th to April 10th 2020. Travel and accommodation costs will be covered by IPSL-CGS.

This weeklong program will include:

-       Scientific lectures, workshops and discussions on climate change observation, modelling and the consequences for humanity and biodiversity

-       Practical information on studying in the Paris area (meetings with the international services of the universities and with current and past master and PhD students) as well as presentations on career opportunities and openings

Applications

- Open to applicants with undergraduate (B.Sc) and master (M1, M2, or equivalent) qualifications in physics, earth sciences, environmental sciences or related fields

- Candidates will be selected based on their CV, motivation and a reference letter from their supervisors.

- Deadline for receipt of applications: 5th March 2020

*Of the institutions in the IPSL-CGS, the Shanghai Global Ranking places the University of Versailles 2nd in atmospheric sciences, the Sorbonne University 3rd in oceanography and 4th in atmospheric sciences.
